Decarbonisation data measure a number of different gasses emitted by vessels. These measurements are regularly used as part of various different climate initiatives (such as The Poseidon Principles), or as part of regulatory submissions (Such as the Carbon Intensity Index, or CII).

Alongside this, there are also organisations which utilise various different datapoints to create automated sustainability scores, which can be used to assess the sustainability risk of a supply chain, or potential partner.

Drawbacks

Regulations on this can be patchwork, so the immediate impact of these measurements is difficult to quantify.
