  • How do I register for the portal?

  • How secure is the portal?
    Our platform is powered by Moxo – the portal security credentials can be found below along with their company information.
  • What is a ‘flow’?
    This is a process manager that we use to create and maintain milestones to provide structure to the early stages of your engagements. Once connected with your chosen suppliers this becomes much more open. What if I want to go back a step in the flow, or feel I’ve made the wrong choice in initial suppliers for connection? Contact us here. We can make any amendments required to help you find the data, platforms, or information you’re looking for.
  • How can I upload a file?
    There are two options either: Click the three dots at the top of any chat and click fill -> Add. Click the plus button on the left of the chat box and click file.
  • What’s a to-do?
    This is a simple tool to remove any ambiguity on action points for both parties. It allows you to set a task/objective and milestone for completion. For example, if you’re awaiting a sample from a supplier, you can set the to-do and the date. A reminder will be sent to the recipient of the to-do when it’s set up, and prior to the date chosen.
  • What is an approval?
    Like the to-do, the approval tool is designed to remove those confusing moments in which parties aren’t sure if an element of the discussion has been agreed. For example, if a supplier has proposed a work-around to a specific challenge, they can set an approval to ensure that you’re happy/accept the proposed solution before moving ahead with a quotation.
  • What is an acknowledgement?
    This is a simple confirmation that you have received the information sent, you can send this if you would like to inform any party of receipt.
  • Can I use the system without logging into the platform?
    Yes, you will need to follow links sent to your emails which will take you to the website.
  • Can I turn off email notifications?
    Yes, you can control what you receive notifications for in your settings.
  • How can I see all outstanding notifications?
    Click the notification button on the top right of the page and you’ll be able to see all outstanding notifications.
  • Do you have a mobile app?
    This is currently in development and should be fully operational before January 2023.
  • Can I customise/personalise my profile?
    Yes, click here to change your settings and add a photo if you chose.
  • What platforms/OS systems does your portal need to operate?
    The following information describes the minimum requirements for using the portal on mobile and desktop browsers. Supported Tablet & Mobile Devices iOS 11 or later Android 4.4 or later Supported Desktop & Browsers Access the portal from the web on your Windows or Mac using one of these supported browsers Chrome 72+ Firefox 59+ Microsoft Edge (Chromium) 80+ Safari 12.2+ IE 11+
  • How much does it cost?
    There are zero fees. We commercialise our offering by charging a referral fee to suppliers in our network. We do however ask that you have the intent and the means to make a purchase should you choose to work with Maritime Data.
  • What is a Request for Connection?
    The second phase of engagement, with a Request for Connection we will create a group with you and the chosen suppliers. You will be able to request documents, set up video calls, chat and control timeline. Anonymity/pseudonymity is still possible during this phase.
  • What’s a Request for Information?
    This is the first phase of our service. Once you’ve submitted your requirement(s) we will send the technical details and questions out to the relevant suppliers We will then consolidate the information so you can easily understand it all. You can remain anonymous for this process.
  • What is a Request for Proposal?
    This enables you to request a full Proposal for your requirement. This will require full information about yourself and your company to help suppliers to quote effectively.
  • How do I submit my requirement?
    Fill out the form and your requirement will be sent to our team. If your requirement is complex, or you would prefer to talk through it, please schedule a call here
  • Can I skip stages?
    Yes, you can jump into any of the stages depending on your situation and your requirement.
  • What if my data requirement doesn’t fit the categories?
    Please feel free to reach out to us here to request a call, we will listen to your requirement and advise whether we can support.
  • Will you share my budget with the suppliers?
    No, never. We take this information to guide which suppliers to send your request to, based upon their list pricing.
  • What happens if I’ve connected with a supplier, and I don’t want to continue conversations?
    We can close the conversation at any time, and you can choose to inform the supplier, or ask us to do this for you. Don’t worry, all conversations will be saved for future reference.
  • Can we request our own proposals?
    Of course, if you would like to request the proposal directly from the supplier, once connection has been established you can.
  • Can you request proposals on our behalf?
    Yes, we can request the suppliers send either their own proposals or fill out a template that we will customise for you.
  • Which Suppliers do you work with?
    Maritime Data manages relationships with 45+ specialised providers. These companies range from publicly listed business intelligence providers, brokers and intermediaries, market participants and to consultants and subject matter experts. Most of our partners can be found on the Home Page in our "Proud to Partner" section. Some of our partners however prefer not to be listed publicly.
  • Does Maritime Data resell their partners data?
    We do not resell our partners data or any other products for that matter. We add value to our buyers by helping them make more effective purchasing decisions along with the time, effort and resource saved in doing so. We are yet to see a use case that would require us to be the primary on a contract for a product we do not create or manage.
  • How do I connect with suppliers on the platform?

  • How does it work?
    Review and sign our partner agreement - available on request. Detail the product(s) you would like to make available via Maritime Data. Receive requests for information, to connect or proposals from Buyers. Deliver, contract and invoice directly with the Buyer; once a successful connection is made the Maritime Data team will step aside unless called upon by either party. Once a new contract is closed won, Maritime Data will invoice for 12.5% of Year 1 Revenue - any recurring revenue earned from the opportunity will not be subject to the referral fee.
  • How do I register as a supplier
    Fill out the form and we will reach out to understand your company in greater detail. Once confirmed and agreed we will add you to our supplier network to receive requests.
  • How much does it cost ?
    Maritime Data charges a 12.5% fee on year 1 revenue of any closed won contract following a referral. The fee is not recurring and does not apply to any revenue earned post year 1.
  • What’s a Request for Information?
    This is the first phase of our service. Once a potential buyer has submitted their requirement(s) we will send the technical details and questions out to the relevant suppliers. We will then consolidate the information so the potential buyer can easily understand it all. Buyers can remain anonymous for this process.
  • What is a Request for Connection?

You will be able to request documents, set up video calls, chat and control timeline. Anonymity/pseudonymity is still possible during this phase.
  • What is a Request for Proposal?
    This enables buyers to request a full Proposal for your requirement. This will require full information about the potential buyers to be shared so you can quote effectively.
  • What if I'm not part of an RFC after an RFI?
    This means the potential buyer has decided based on the information provided not to continue the conversation. We will always seek feedback on this and endeavour to provide this to you to help you with future RFIs.
